Disabled Veterans Fight… DAV USAF…edited twice

Heres what I know to fight the government for veterans benefits…

I wrote a blog yesterday that lots of people thought was just about disabled veterans because of its title DAVF, which refers to a dura fistula in the skull….

It brought to mind the many veterans that contacted me many years ago to get help fighting the system… so here is what I did, to turn the table on the Air Force and my discharge for a personality disorder and how I turned that into 100% service connected VA disability….

1st: DOCUMENT… if active duty… keep good accurate notes and above all, before your discharge, get a copy of those medical records and if they balk, do it under the “Freedom of Information Act”… be sure you get your hands on labs and X-rays if you can and never give those back… I still have mine from 1982….best evidence ever…

2nd:  When you are discharged, the first thing you do, apply for veterans benefits… it can take as little as 6 months, but with the current administration expect up to 2 years or longer to get anything going…

3rd:  Get 2nd opinions on the health reasons you are fighting the government on… I am a prime example of the incompetence and negligence of not only the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine medical side… but also the VA… in Washington, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Oregon, California and now Hawaii…. big island…

4th:  Get your DAV representative to help you with the paperwork… It’s not that it is confusing… some of it is redundant…. and fill everything out that you understand and those questions that make no sense, put your question in the box… or attach a paper asking those questions… leave no stone un turned in your quest for benefits…

5th:  Get your senator involved… I have used my Senators, in California, Washington, Arkansas and Hawaii… and yea, some of them actually did some work for me…

6th:  NEVER lie about anything you are trying to do to get benefits… stick to the facts and only the facts… they are not and never will be interested in your sob story….

I know that for a fact… I dealt with rape, attempted murder and medical negligence and that was just my time as active duty… not including the attempted murder by my dad who was active duty that left me with a DAVF…. dura fistual from a stroke at 13 years old and the Air Force covered up the abuse…

I learned when I was active duty from 1977 to 1983…. DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT… And to top that off… I started recording all incoming phone calls from Tri-West our VA health care here, the VA and anyone associated with my appeal or fight against the federal government… be sure you know your state laws if you do that… never break laws or regulations to get your answers…it will bite you in the ass..

In 1998 or there about after being in the VA system since 1984, I was made 80% disabled and 20% unemployable… by 2004, that was made permanent… and I have so much evidence a lawyer is itching to take on the federal government and sue… court, is never fun… so now I am 90% disabled and 10% unemployable… at 64, working will never happen again for me…

Recently we found out that what I had told everyone from the beginning was the truth… I had a massive TBI when I was a child and somehow, I went through life had kids, went in the military and in the end, because of that TBI and the Air Force cover up… I lost my career… but I proved the malicious behavior of the commander and vice commander, section commander and squadron commander and you got…

I get 100% from the VA now and will the rest of my life… only because I proved these officers lied…. truth matters….

Sounds like Trump and the GOP…

I apologize for any misleading writing about the DAV yesterday when I was writing about the dura fistula…

The last people I helped get veterans benefits… the spouses of vietnam veterans… 1 case took about 18 months and the last one was resolved in less than 6 months…

The VA has changed it’s process and now has a checklist they go by for the spouses of veterans who died because of Agent Orange… that is how my dad died and some very dear friends… their spouses now get survivior benefits… and I was happy to be there to help…an no at death the military member was getting less than 50% disabled designation at death…we proved they died of agent orange….

I wish all veterans success in their quest for what they earned while serving our great nation… finally, appeal any decision you disagree with and do it promptly…and do like I did fight for your social security… I got mine in 2000…

FYI. getting a lawyer will just rob you of money… diligent paperwork filing and appeals be it VA or social security… no lawyer got one dime… I have a VA appeal ongoing an see the judge the 16th to present new evidence… I am still fighting for my rights even though I get full SS an VA….
